4 month progress report

So a couple of things have happened since we've started this process again in June. Liza, our main contact and director for the Taiwan program left Heartsent. We were very saddened because she was really great to work with and we felt that we had built a good rapport with her. Our new contact director is Shelby and so far we don't really know too much about her. We called Heartsent for an update on Friday and introduced ourselves to her. She seemed really nice but you could tell that we were not really on her radar yet because she did not know too much about us. Not on her radar immediately tells us that we are still really far down on the list and our file is getting dusty. We talked for a bit and then of course had to ask the question "where do we stand?" Her response was that we were still in the 30"s on the list. We were 36 when we started and this means that roughly 4-5 families have received referrals and they are moving at a snail pace of 1 placement per month. This of course will pick up at times and slow back down at times but she said that we should be looking at a referral around mid-2011 and traveling to Taiwan again at the end of 2011 early 2012. Whoa, that's a LONG time. :( We figure Lauren will be 3 years apart in age from the new baby which isn't too terrible. But we can all just sit back and relax for now, we have a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays to go!
