It's official; we're on the list

So we just called Heartsent today after recently turning in our application for number two. Liza(the Taiwan director at Heartsent; our adoption agency) said that they recieved our application and we don't have to start our strenuous paperwork for 6 months. She said that we are officially on the list as of June 16th and we are number 36; YIKES! That sounds crazy considering we were number 14 when we got on the list for Lauren. So Taiwan appears to be much more popular these days but the good news from all of this is that Liza said the process has been going much quicker in the past few months. They are getting two referals a month (compared to 1-2 referals every 2 months when we were on the waiting list) so it is estimated at a year and 1/2 on the waiting list. We are translating that to a 2 year wait. Which is much better than we thought, which was a 3 year wait. We are on our way!

Taiwan again

It took long and careful consideration of what we wanted to do to give Lauren a sibling. We talked with family and friends and just sat on the different options for awhile. When we talked about the possibility of adopting again we found ourselves always happy with the discussion. It just felt right. We also love the idea that Lauren will have a common bond with her sister or brother, one that even we as her parents will never fully understand. So we are headed back to Taiwan. It of course will be another three year wait, but we figure that Lauren will have our undivided attention in that time and there will be a three year spread between her and her sibling which is perfect for us. If she is mature enough we would even love to bring her with us so that she could meet the wonderful woman who nurtured her for her first year. All in all we are so excited about this decision. Probably even more excited because we know what to expect and the nerves won't be as bad. We can't choose the sex this time around so we couldn't give this blog a proper name but are also very excited that we have no idea. We choose a girl the first time and see positives to either a brother or sister for Lauren. We couldn't be happier with how everything is turning out.
